We welcome Francois Glasman Mr. Soccer back after his
successful hip surgery.
We are all amazed by his quick recovery.
Not even a day after surgery he was already arranging trials
in Europe for some of our Canadian players and players in
Africa and France.
It has been a successful year for Shooting Stars and we
thank all our students and parents for their support and
dedication.
Many new projects are in the works so please stay tuned for
more news.
Yours in Soccer

2007 FEBRUARY NEWS UPDATES
Welcome again to all the Shooting
Stars Family Members! The beginning of 2007 has seen an
excellent start to what is going to be another great year
for us. Registrations are still increasing and there is
active expansion into the Niagara Region by the Shooting
Stars. This is the Litmus test for the High Quality Training
and affordable prices that this School has to offer.
There is continued success by the students of the Shooting
Stars Family, as we continue to see rapid success by those
who commit themselves on a weekly basis and strive to reach
their personal goals, gaining on the dreams that they have
had for many years. Never be afraid to go up to a Shooting
Stars Trainer and seek help. We promise that we will give
you our best. That is our commitment to you. That is what
Training is for. Our own, Mr. Soccer, Francois, has always
said that every minute that you Train, it is like putting
Cash in the Bank. It is your investment into your future.
Training pays off!
Shooting Stars has broken new ground this year, venturing
into the Scholarship World, that thrives among the College
and University levels within the United States. Staff have
been working diligently to provide avenues for our students,
so that they can achieve success in this area. Our own
Junior Groves has assisted with information sessions for the
older students, to provide them with knowledge in these
area. As well, Junior has set up Scouts from the Bowling
Green State University, to attend on February 10the 2007 at
the Shooting Stars Training Facility, ASTROPLEX, so that
players can have a chance to perform their best, again, to
try and realize their dreams. This offer is provided at no
cost to our own members, as we try to afford every
opportunity to the students at the Shooting Stars Family.
When we are with you, we don't give up. We set that example
to you so that together, we can strive to meet your personal
goals, whatever they are. Good luck to all. Further, staff
members are using their contacts to try and help the
students on the Scholarship route and will continue to
assist them continuously. Remember, hard work always pays
off. Cuba is heating up rapidly and this is shown by the
March Break Tour being "Sold Out"! Our own Francois Glasman,
the Visionary of Soccer in Canada, will continue to take
players from all over the world to Cuba, so that they can
train and be assessed for future Trials in Europe. This
March, students will train twice daily, as well as have some
exhibition games among the local Cuban Talent. And Oh, I
hear the food is Excellent there so this makes for an
excellent combination - Training, Exhibition games, Food,
Sun and Beach! Wow! Three of our top members will be
traveling to France soon for Trials so keep watching the
websites for updates.
In May of this year, 16 invited top players in the under 14
age group will be traveling to Nice, in the South of France,
for Trials, as Shooting Stars has received this Fantastic
Invitation. Players there will have an opportunity to play
some Top Pro Youth teams, including OGC Nice. Please contact
Francois Glasman for further information; (416) 432 1234 -
but don't wait too long as space is very limited.
Clayton Rosario has spent many years helping needy families
in Soccer. While he was Technical Director at Amour Heights
SC, he set up 5 after school programs in needy areas. There
was also a "Mentorship" programs where High School Students
assisted with the younger ones. The Mentors received
reference letters, to assist them on their future paths in
life. Programs like this kept the Youth off the street and
had them in a more productive environment. Soccer teaches
many life skills also. Clayton remembers very well growing
up with not too much. Mother Teresa helped his mother get on
her feet when she was younger and this spirit of giving, of
helping, has stayed with his Family. It has been very nice
to see at the Shooting Stars Family, the older students
helping the younger ones. Whether it be simply showing them
how to stop a ball properly, or how to pass a ball properly
or just listening to them, looking at them in the eye and
really trying to help them. And to do this all, with a
SMILE. The value of being a Mentor, goes beyond many years
and helping others will come back to you ten fold.
Shooting Stars Soccer has recently started helping the, FACS
- FAMILY AND CHILDREN SERVICES, in Niagara Falls and
recently, one of their most talented Foster Children, was
awarded with a Free 10 week Training session, with our
School. Most of us cant even comprehend how much this means
to a Foster child, who does not have too much. Some of us
have been in that position, and can. So every day that you
train at Shooting Stars, Train with pride, Train with
Desire, Train for every other young person who are all not
as lucky as we are, to have this opportunity. Train for
those who are Physically challenged and wish that they could
get out of a wheelchair and just perform for their Coach.
And just maybe, one day, when you have achieved your Goals
because of the opportunities that your parents have
provided, you can again give back to others who are less
fortunate.
